When beauty technology became a whole ecosystem instead of just an app.
SWAN was not just an app. It brought together beauty content, commerce, a marketplace, AI, mobile software, and a smart mirror.
That kind of product forces you to think beyond one application. The mobile app has to work. The mirror has to work. The cloud infrastructure has to work. The marketplace has to work. And all of those pieces have to communicate with each other.
I worked on the technology behind that ecosystem, including the Flutter mobile application, the Android mirror application, cloud infrastructure, IoT architecture, AI based recommendation use cases, and the multivendor marketplace infrastructure.
It was one of those projects where the boundaries between software, hardware, commerce, and user experience became impossible to ignore. That is usually where the work gets interesting for me.
I write about the decisions, tools, experiments, and lessons that do not always make it into the final product.
